Are pets allowed?

All pets are welcome except for cats and dogs! This means bring your parrots, snakes, horses, chimpanzees, zebras, etc.

 

Do kids stay free?

Yes, kids 10 years old or younger stay free!

 

What to bring?

A light sleeping bag, a tent if you want to use your own, a head lamp, natural soap, water bottle, beach towel, your favorite snacks, yoga mat, swim suit, hiking shoes, natural toothpaste, natural shampoo, and a warm coat for those occasional chilly nights, etc.

 

Is there a store nearby?

The closest convenience store is the Idleyld Park Trading Post which is 9 miles away. If you want to go to a supermarket the nearest is located in Roseburg 28 miles away, which is the closest larger town with a hospital, post office, banks, etc.

 

Local Transport?

There is public transport to and from Roseburg by bus and to Portland, Eugene, and Chemult by train.

 

Is there opportunity for work/trade?

We do welcome committed individuals to take part in a work/trade program. We prefer to have individuals who are able to stay for longer periods of time if possible. There will be an expected 5-7hrs or service work expected 6 days a week. We are looking for responsible, self-motivated individuals who are eager to learn, enjoy the beauty of life, and share in the manifestation of this collective dream. Where is the nearest airport?

The nearest airports are Portland international Airport (PDX), 4hrs....Eugene (EUG), 2hrs, and Redmond/Bend (RDM), 3.5hrs.

 

Is there Internet available?

Yes we have Wifi available, but you will need to bring your own laptop or smartphone.

 

Will I have cell phone service?

There is service intermittently depending on where you are standing and which provider you have. You can also call out via skype or purchase a phone card on site.

 

Are there any Scholarships?

For those who can not afford a given class, we do offer two half priced reduced places for persons of financial need per course.  There will be an expected extra 2-3hrs/day work trade expected of those who do receive this half price cost reduction. Please let us know ahead of time if this is your situation and we will see what we can work out.

 
Smoking?

We encourage people to recognize the ancient and eternal sacredness of Tobacco, and the sacredness of one's own body, and that of nature. However, there will be a designated smoking section for those who feel the need.

 
Alcohol and Drugs?

Alcohol and drugs are not permitted here at Ubuntu Gardens.
